What is taking place on the farm today?

The wheat is golden brown and just about ready for harvest.  We will be switching the heads on the combine soon to be ready to harvest the wheat.

It is the time of the year to actively be in the bean field.  Much time is spent cultivating the beans, followed by walking the bean fields to get any weeds still lingering.

Lynn is finishing up cultivating the corn fields one last time before the corn is too tall to cultivate.

We have been trying to bale hay but it is proving to be challenging with rainstorms every couple days.  Several acres of hay was cut on Thursday, we need a few days now without rain so it will dry out and be ready to bale.  The plan is to do about three loads of small square bales and the rest as large round bales.
